DocsChrome extension

Pair the extension with the app

Pairing is optional. It lets the extension send pages to your desktop workspace and show today’s opportunities and your plans on YouTube.

Applies to: Desktop 0.1 · Extension 0.1

Create a one-time code in the app

  1. Make sure Nishio is running and you are signed in as the workspace owner.
  2. In the extension, open “Preferences & sync” and copy the Extension ID. It is also shown on the extension’s card in chrome://extensions.
  3. In the app, open Settings & team → Browser extension pairing and paste it into Extension ID.
  4. Tick “Allow this extension to save, read research and request ideas in this workspace” and click “Create one-time code”.
  5. Copy the code. It is shown once and is valid for 10 minutes.

Finish in the extension

  1. In “Preferences & sync”, paste the code into One-time pairing code.
  2. Leave Local API address at http://127.0.0.1:4310 unless the app is using a different port.
  3. Give the browser a Device name and click “Pair for one hour”. The panel then shows “Paired to local Nishio” and when the permission expires.

What pairing adds

  • “Send this page to the app”: one click reads only the videos visible now and saves them to the workspace as dated, sourced evidence.
  • “Also sync with my paired workspace” when saving a page, and a Pending sync queue that retries when the connection returns.
  • “From Nishio” in the side panel: Today’s opportunities, your plans in the app and whether you track a channel there.
  • “Track in dashboard” for channels, and optional use of your configured local AI.
Short-lived on purposeDevice permission lasts one hour, and closing the browser also ends it. Pair again when needed; your local saves and the sync queue are kept. Revoke a browser at any time from Browser extension pairing in Settings & team, or click “Disconnect sync” in the extension.
No keys in the extensionThe extension never stores your YouTube API key or any YouTube sign-in. It only talks to YouTube pages you open and to the app on 127.0.0.1.
